Hi there! I'm Elaine, but you can call me Ella.

Welcome to a world full of Ella! Everything here is made or designed by me, from jewelry and accessories to functional home decor, to bring color, joy, and a sprinkle of magic to your everyday life. My crafting journey started back in middle school when I got my first Silhouette cutting machine. I used it to make stickers, vinyl decals, cards, t-shirts, and anything I could think of. A couple of years later, I went to a STEM high school and gained the skills to use CAD software, work with machineries, and work through ideas to bring my dreams to life.

At the same time, I discovered the Union Square Holiday Market in NYC, where I saw local artisans selling their own unique, handmade art. That was when I made it my dream to be on the other side of the table selling my own handmade products at markets. Being a first generation Chinese American, though, my dreams had to be set aside for college, where I studied computer engineering. Every moment there though, I dreamed of having my own booth selling my handmade art despite not even knowing what yet. It was quite a mental struggle to push myself towards a goal that wasn’t mine. I unfortunately fell short with one class left and since the class wasn’t offered next semester, I decided it was time to chase what I actually wanted instead. In May 2019, I gave myself 2 years to start and grow my own small handmade business. If it didn’t work out, then I’d return to school. Now here we are with Ellaful in 2026.

When I started, coming back into the crafting world, I wasn't sure what my business would sell so I hopped onto Pinterest to get inspiration. I stumbled upon a resin block filled with flowers and fairy lights. The thought of being able to preserve flowers and not have it wilt was crazy to me. Growing up staring at textbooks and nature wasn't really a part of my life so I wanted to learn this craft. I spent 4 months researching, practicing, failing, and practicing again. I learned how to work with resin and how to dry flowers all through some YouTube videos and lots of trial and error. In September 2019, I launched Ellaful.

When I started, options for resin art were limited. Everyone used the same silicone molds and the same wood surfaced. I know if I wanted to make something unique, I had to make it myself so I got myself a laser cutter in September 2020 with the goal of making more unique products, things that you can only get at Ellaful. Once I picked up the process, I was able to add fun and colorful jewelry to my product line. I did my first market in July 2021 with only two earring designs and they were so loved that we now have over 60 designs!

Over the next couple of years, I worked towards my dream of having an Ellaful booth in a holiday market by doing local pop ups to gain experience. With over 30 markets under my belt in 2024, I was ready to apply to my first holiday market, the Christmas Village in Philadelphia. It’s a market that runs for 30 days straight in a major city and I knew that if I wanted to keep up with demand, I had to have a product that could be reproduced.

So I used my favorite medium, pressed flowers, to create different animals and designs. I launched them in April 2024 with a heart, a moon, and initials. Over that year, I designed many more animals and they quickly became a customer favorite.

August 2024 came and I got the email. I got accepted to be a vendor at the Christmas Village in Philadelphia Holiday Market. 10 years after my discovery of the Union Square Holiday Market, I got to be a vendor myself. I received so much love there and I returned in 2025 to even more. Seeing the excitement on people’s faces when they walk by my booth and sharing my story is why I do markets, to spread the joy I got when I discovered it. This year, I hope to expand and do a holiday market in NYC as well, where it all began.

Thank you for being a part of this journey with me. I hope to bring you more color, joy, and magic along the way.
